Mini fridge

It seems like more and more hotels are removing minibars from their rooms, so if you ever need to refrigerate something in a hotel room you might not think it’s possible. But on a recent trip to San Diego, I learned that it is. My son Jack was put on an antibiotic that needed to be chilled. Instead of using the room’s ice bucket, I called the front desk at the Omni San Diego and asked if they had a mini fridge. Sure enough, they did, and they delivered it within minutes free of charge. I thought it was pretty cool but then one of my travel colleagues told me that almost every hotel offers them. Now I know to ask—and to bring my leftovers back to the room.
